纸张防潮，纸张对空气的湿度非常敏感，纸张中的水份含量总是随着空气中湿度的变化而变化的。储存纸张的库房应当清洁，干燥，或者直接放在胶印车间里，纸堆要离开地面一段距离，要离开墙壁。储放处的室内相对湿度保持在60%-70%，而其室温应以18-22℃为适宜。

纸张必须避免阳光直接曝晒，否则将因纸张中水份被蒸发而发脆、发黄，同时会使纸张变形上翘。如果变形那么无法使用印刷。纸张防热。纸张不应当储放在温度过高的地方，当一般纸张受到超过38℃的高温时，其强度显着降低，而且要翘曲变形，特别是铜版纸则会粘结成块造成报废。纸张防折，纸张储存应平摊堆齐，避免一折三叠那样放置，堆放时，切不可使纸张的两端交错突出，否则突出部分容易变质。

Paper folding, paper storage should be flat stack, avoid a fold three fold as placement, stacking, must not make the two ends of the paper staggered prominent, otherwise the protruding part is easy to deteriorate.

印刷用纸的厚度，紧度、平滑度、尘埃度，含水量，酸碱度及对平版胶印的影响，这些纸张的特性直接影响到印刷品的质量，对上机印刷速度等都有影响。纸张的厚度均匀一致的话，上机印刷的质量也就会更好。

纸张是印刷的关键，印刷厂对于车间的温度湿度都要控制，如需紧缺纸张可以囤货，常用纸张不变的化，尽量库存少，随调随用也可以减少资金压力。
